The Asian Scholarship Foundation (ASF)

The Asian Scholarship Foundation, which is based in Bangkok, Thailand, is an Asian-led non-profit organization funded by a grant from the Ford Foundation. It administers the ASIA Fellows Awards as well as other grants with assistance from its partner institutions in Beijing, Jakarta, Hanoi, Manila, and New Delhi.

The ASF aims to increase overall awareness of the intellectual resources in the countries of South and Southeast Asia and the People's Republic of China. ASF seeks to establish a multi-national network of Asian specialists in Asia who will foster the development of Asian Studies within existing area studies communities.
